Sehwag shines for CAG

India discard Virender Sehwag scored a sparkling 48 from 20 balls for Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in a thrilling tied match against Mumbai Customs in the 10th All India Dr. D. Y. Patil T20 Cup at Navi Mumbai on Wednesday.

Sehwag scored 15 of the first over sent down by Atish Gawand and 18 of the third over of the CAG innings. The tied result though did not mar either team’s passage into the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The quarterfinals line-up : ONGC vs SBT, DY Patil ‘A’ vs BPCL, Mumbai Customs vs Indian Oil and CAG vs Reliance 1.

Scores: Group ‘A’: Andhra Bank: 113 for 8 wkts in 20 overs (Hanuma Vihari 34, Surabh Kumar 3 for 22) lost to ONGC 116 for 1 wkt in 13.5 overs (Manan Vora 61, Unmukt Chand 43)

Group ‘B’: Mumbai Customs: 184 for 6 wkts in 20 overs (Sachin Wagh 67 n.o., Balakrishna Jalaj Saxena 3 for 33) tied with CAG 184 for 8 wkts in 20 overs (Virender Sehwag 48, Alpesh Ramjani 3 for 24).
