Ranjib Biswal to remain IPL chairman

March 03, 2015 06:34 pm | Updated 06:34 pm IST - New Delhi

Odisha Cricket Association president Ranjib Biswal will retain his position as the chairman of the Indian Premier League in the new regime under Jagmohan Dalmiya.

Although none of the sub-committees has been announced, it has been learnt that there won’t be any change in the IPL hierarchy with Biswal being at the helm of affairs.

“The east zone units need to stick together. Since Ranjib had supported Mr. Dalmiya’s bid of becoming the president, we will support his retention as the IPL chairman. He has not performed poorly as the chairman and his tenure till now has been controversy free. So there is no point in changing him,” a senior BCCI official, in the know of things, told PTI .

While Biswal’s re-appointment is on the cards, CAB treasurer Biswarup Dey was on Monday appointed ‘executive assistant’ to president Dalmiya and will now act as a bridge between new president and former president N. Srinivasan.
