Ranji Trophy: Assam takes lead

Notwithstanding a fine 142 by Amit Verma, Assam took the first innings lead against Kerala in the Group ‘C’ Ranji Trophy match at the Thalassery Cricket Stadium here on Sunday.

In reply to Assam’s 344, Kerala, which resumed at 52 for four, could make only 266. Batting a second time, Assam was 26 without loss at stumps on the third day.
