Suresh Raina during the course of his unbeaten 82 against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday became the first Indian batsman to aggregate 4,000 runs in T20 cricket.
The Chennai Super Kings star with 354 boundaries (fours and sixes) in the IPL is now second only to RCB’s Chris Gayle (384). With 5548 runs at an average of 36.50 in 195 games, Brad Hodge (RR) has regained the record for the highest runs tally in T20 cricket.
He surpassed Gayle’s 5512 @ 45.55 in 145 matches.
Hodge also equalled Gayle’s tally of 37 fifties in T20 with his match-winning knock against SRH.

* Orange Cap holder Michael Hussey’s 732 runs in this edition is the second most by a batsman in a single edition of IPL. Chris Gayle had scored 733 runs in 2012.
* Suresh Raina with an aggregate of 414 runs has the most runs by a batsman against Mumbai Indians. Jacques Kallis (KKR) held the earlier record (403).
* Purple Cap holder Dwayne Bravo (CSK), with 28 victims, now shares the record of most wickets in a single edition of IPL with Lasith Malinga, who had a similar tally in 2011.
* The 14 catches held by Bravo so far this season is the most by a fielder in a single edition of the IPL. A.B. de Villiers (RCB) and Rohit Sharma (MI) had taken 13 catches in 2009 and 2012 edition respectively.
* With nine of its batsmen dismissed by being caught, Mumbai Indians has equalled the IPL record of most such dismissals in a team’s innings.
* The fiery Dale Steyn (SRH) ended the season with 219 dot balls, the most by a bowler in a single edition of IPL.
