Perera rescues Sri Lanka in 1st ODI against Bangladesh

Thisara Perera hit a career-best 80 not out to steer Sri Lanka to 180 all out against Bangladesh in the first one-day International at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.

Perera added 82 runs with Sachitra Senanayeke to help Sri Lanka recover from a precarious 67-8. The latter scored 30 runs.

Opener Kusal Perera made 20 while Dinesh Chandimal contributed 13.

For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan, debutant Arafat Sunny and Rubel Hossain picked up two wickets apiece.
