Though he refused to talk in detail on India’s loss in the two Tests so far against South Africa, former skipper M.S. Dhoni chose to highlight the positives and felt that once batsmen start scoring, things should fall in place.
Dhoni said, “To win a Test, we need 20 wickets. We have taken 20 wickets (in both Tests in SA).”
“If you can’t take 20 wickets, what’s the next thing? You try and force a draw. How can you draw a Test, is by giving less runs and by scoring more runs. Third one is never an option! Because you are always looking to win a match.
“If you are not able to take 20 wickets, you can’t win a Test match irrespective of whether you are playing at home or away.
“The biggest positive is that we are taking 20 wickets which means we are always in a position to win a Test. Once you start scoring runs, you are there.”
