No headway in talks

Dates yet not finalised as Srinivasan meets CSA chief Nenzani

October 12, 2013 08:23 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 07:47 pm IST - MUMBAI:

The much-awaited meeting between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) on finalising India’s itinerary on the tour of South Africa this year, ended in a stalemate on Saturday.

It is learnt that BCCI’s line of thinking about the proposed tour was conveyed in detail to CSA president Chris Nenzani.

No revised schedule was announced regarding the bilateral series. The original schedule announced by CSA involved India playing three Tests, seven ODIs and two T20s from November 18, 2013 to January 5, 2014. The BCCI objected citing breach of protocol, pointing out that it was not consulted before the fixtures were announced.

CSA will be forced to curtail a financially lucrative tour by India due to overlapping of dates or risk cancellation.
