New Zealand team unchanged for first test

New Zealand has retained the line-up that beat the West Indies in consecutive tests in December for the first of two cricket tests against India starting on Thursday at Eden Park, Auckland.

Captain Brendon McCullum said the pitch at Eden Park seemed likely to suit fast bowlers but New Zealand had resisted the temptation to name a fourth seamer ahead of leg-spinner Ish Sodhi.

India has yet to name its side, but captain Mahendra Singh Dohni said all 17 members of its squad were fit.
