In a startling move, vice-captain Brendon Nash has been dropped for the second Test against India beginning in Bridgetown from June 28.
Opener Kirk Edwards, who figured with little success in the ODI series that preceded the Tests, has come into the squad. This is the only change made by the selectors for the crucial match at the Kensington Oval.
The left-handed Nash had a forgettable first Test at Sabina Park although he was unlucky to receive a delivery that kept low from leg-spinner Amit Mishra in the second innings.
Nash's replacement, Edwards, is unlikely to feature in the eleven. Marlon Samuels is expected to take Nash's spot in the middle-order.
There is still no Chris Gayle in the team. The former West Indies captain had a meeting with coach Ottis Gibson and senior officials of the West Indies Cricket Board on Friday night but the talks have not yielded any results so far.
