Modi asks for more time

May 11, 2010 02:17 am | Updated November 28, 2021 08:59 pm IST - MUMBAI:

Lalit Modi, the Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner suspended by the BCCI, asked for more time to submit his replies to the charge sheet issued by the Board.

The 15-day deadline for replies to a five-point notice issued by the Board to Modi ended on Monday.

It is learnt that Modi asked for more documents from the BCCI to prepare his response. The Board is likely to grant him the five-day extension asked, though no official confirmation has come from BCCI so far.

The BCCI charge sheet was based on the following points — initial bids of Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, broadcasting deal with MSM/WSG, rigging bids of two new franchisees, internet rights and Modi's behaviour.
