On Day 1, despite centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay, the Afghanistan bowlers bounced back to restrict India to 347 for 6.
From 280 for one, India slumped to 347 for six at stumps on an eventful day of sparkling strokeplay, rain-interruptions, and some compelling bowling in the last session.
Shikhar Dhawan scored a splendid 107 while Murali Vijay a sedate 105.
