The star of Sunday’s explosive match against Australia, Virat Kohli, spoke out in defence of Anushka Sharma on Monday, after the actor got trolled on social media, with many cricket fans 'thanking' her for ‘not distracting’ the cricket star.
“Shame on those people who have been having a go at Anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her,” the cricketer posted both on Twitter and Instagram.

Kohli urged people to “have some compassion,” and said that Anushka had given him “nothing but positivity”.
He also posted a longer version on Instagram, saying it was a shame that she was being blamed and made fun of when she had no control over what he did.

Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what i do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity. This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And i dont need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Think of how your sister or girlfriend or wife would feel if someone trolled them and very conveniently rubbished them in public. #nocompassion #nocommonsense”
This is not the first time Anushka Sharma has had to suffer trolls. She was >targeted on social media after Kohli’s poor showing in the World Cup matches that, coincidentally, had her in the stadium.
