Familiar dilemma for TNCA Districts

August 27, 2015 11:47 pm | Updated March 29, 2016 05:48 pm IST - CHENNAI:

TNCA Districts XI has a familiar dilemma to resolve — the team combination — as it takes on Himachal Pradesh in the semifinal of the Kalpathi AGS Buchi Babu all-India tournament on Friday.

A look at the team’s performances so far would suggest that batting has been its forte. But its bowlers haven’t floundered either.

Medium pacer Antony Dhas who has a six-wicket haul in his 10-wicket aggregate so far has operated well in tandem with his bowling partner Abhishek Tanwar, who has seven wickets to his credit.

Its spinners haven’t been as consistent though and Natarjan, who was preferred ahead of off-spinner Mohanraj in the quarterfinal, looks set to retain his place in the playing XI.

“Natarajan is most likely to play because Pachaiyappa’s will have assistance for pace bowlers,” said stand-in skipper Thalaivan Sargunam.

Thalaivan Sargunam took over as captain after Suresh Kumar went off the field with a shoulder injury in the quarterfinal clash against Haryana at Chepauk.

In the other semifinal, Mumbai takes on Andhra.
