‘Just a cheese omelette!’

September 27, 2013 11:48 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 09:04 pm IST - Mysore:

Nikita Miller wheeled away right through the day and bowled an unchanged spell of 26-7-51-3 either side of the lunch break.

After the shoulder-straining effort, the West Indies ‘A’ left-arm spinner, who choked India ‘A’, said: “Bowling all day is a habit; I have been doing it for a couple of hours.”

Asked about the breakfast that powered his marathon stint, he quipped, “Just a cheese omelette!”

Speaking about the craft he exhibited on the pitch, Miller said: “It’s a pitch where you don’t want to bowl too slow because the batsman will have enough time. You want to bowl slightly fast.

“That was the plan and we executed it.”

As for effecting a declaration to the visitors’ second innings, Miller replied, “We don’t want to give the Indians the upper hand. So, we are looking at getting some more runs on the board, get a decent lead and take it from there.”

Any target chaseable’

Meanwhile, India ‘A’ batsman Manpreet Juneja struck an optimistic note about chasing any target on the final day.

Asked about a 300-plus chase, Juneja said: “I think it is possible. West Indies is on top as of now.

“If we have a decent target in sight, we might just go for it.”
