Sachin Tendulkar, who is nursing a wrist injury, sweated it out on Thursday at the Mumbai Indians net session at Eden Gardens. He however remains a doubtful starter for the second Qualifier against Rajasthan Royals on Friday.
Teammate Dwayne Smith said Tendulkar has been recovering well from the left wrist injury he sustained last week. The injury kept him out of two league games as well as the first Qualifier against Chennai Super Kings in New Delhi. “Hopefully, he will play tomorrow. He is recovering well,” the West Indian opener said.
Tendulkar rolled his arm over, bowling medium-pacers for nearly 45 minutes during the nets. He took active part in the fielding drills and also played football with his mates. He, however, did not bat at the nets, apparently to avoid aggravating his injury.
The 40-year-old Tendulkar has struggled for form this season. In 14 innings, he has made 287 runs at an average of 22.07 and a strike rate of 124.24. He sits sixth on Mumbai’s batting charts.
