It is normal for a batsman to reach his peak around the age of 30 and Kedar Jadhav is enjoying that phase in his career.
With a string of fine performances, Jadhav has consistently proved his ability in all forms of the game.
Readying to serve Delhi Daredevils for another season following his good showing in 2014, Jadhav keeps his focus on the task at hand. “IPL is a great platform for any player and I would like to perform well. I am enjoying myself and not looking too far ahead,” said Jadhav.
Beneath Jadhav’s shy and composed exterior lies an aggressive batsman, who can adapt well to situations and finish off matches with a high level of competence.
On a testing Lahli pitch, his magnificent stroke-filled knock of 81, which helped Maharashtra bounce back to beat Andhra and enter the Ranji Trophy semifinals last month, was a recent example of Jadhav’s batting prowess.
“Right from the beginning, he has been an aggressive player. In multi-day cricket he has learnt when to attack and when to build his game,” said former India selector Surendra Bhave, who has seen Jadhav grow as a cricketer over a decade.
