Mandeep Singh brought the victory up for RCB with two consecutive sixes with 2 balls remaining.

Kohli hung around at the other end as Mandeep Singh struck a few lusty blows. He fell at 81/3 in the 8th over after 34 valuable runs in 20 balls.

AB de Villiers did not trouble the scorers too much, dismissed for 2 four balls after Gayle fell.

Chris Gayle finally knocked one into a KKR fielder's hands after a 9-ball innings for 21 in the 4th over.

Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle began the RCB innings with their usual flair, getting to 36/0 after 3 overs.

Kolkata posted a formidable 111 runs on the board in their 10 overs.

It all started with Robin Uthappa and Gambhir's small opening stand but after that, Andre Russell came in and changed the pace of the game in a matter of a few deliveries.

He tonked 45 runs of 17 balls, giving his team an excellent boost. Hitting five fours and three sixes in his knock, Russell was at his very best, continuing from the form from his last game.

Towards the end, Ryan ten Doeschate and Yusuf Pathan played small cameos.

Earlier, Yuzvendra Chahal had the better of Uthappa in the end as he got the right-hander to sky a leg-break into the wicket-keeper's hands off the last ball of the 7th over, with the score on 72/2.

Andre Russell and Robin Uthappa carried on their blistering form from their previous game, scoring at around 10 runs per over even as Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to dismiss captain Gautam Gambhir. They reached 61/1 after 6 overs.

After more than two hours and 45 minutes of match time was lost to the rain, the game has been reduced to 10 overs per side.

As per reduced number of overs, the Powerplay will be now be of three overs and one bowler can bowl a maximum two overs.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to field against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday. However, the match start has been hampered after a drizzle that turned into a steady downpour called for the covers to be brought on. Rain was on the cards for this match after the previous game, against Rajasthan Royals, here too was affected.
