IPL betting: bookie arrested in Pathankot

Police arrested a bookie allegedly involved in betting in the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals played in Pune last night, police said on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Anoop Mahajan, a local resident.

On a tip off, a raid was conducted at the house of the accused at Pathankot where the police recovered Rs. 3.30 lakh, 13 mobiles, an LCD TV and a calculator from his possession.

Police on Tuesday night had already arrested five bookies while allegedly accepting bets in the area of Sujanpur during an IPL match.

The arrested person, belonging to Pathankot area, was having links with Mumbai based syndicate, police said.
