: Dwayne Bravo might be enjoying his time in India with his side Chennai Super Kings looking good but back home his national side West Indies slumped to a nine-wicket defeat in the second Test against England.

Bravo fell out with the West Indies board during last year’s ODI tour to India in which he was leading the side, after the team left mid-way due to payment disputes and was dropped for the World Cup.

But the all-rounder, who only plays in the shorter forms of the game, said he still hopes to make it back to the team.

“My aim and drive is to get back in the team. I will definitely get back and it is a matter of time and hopefully the politics get sorted out.”

Despite the defeat Bravo said he was impressed with the team. Speaking at an event in the city, Bravo said, “I was very impressed especially with the way they fought in the first Test. It is a young team missing some senior players.”

The West Indian all-rounder had words of praise for the new coach Phil Simmons.

“I have to give credit to the new coach. He just took charge and was able to get the guys together to draw the first match against England who are among the top three teams in Tests. But it was unfortunate they lost the second. There are some good signs and things are looking for West Indies cricket team.”

Bravo also complemented West Indies’ new ODI captain Jason Holder.

Bravo said he was impressed with the performance of the batsmen. “ It was good to see our players get hundreds especially the likes of Kraigg Brathwaite, Jermaine Blackwood, along with Marlon Samuels.”
