Indian women’s cricket team arrives for Pakistan match

Indian women’s cricket team arrived here on Wednesday for their World Cup play-off match against traditional rivals Pakistan at Barabati Stadium at Cuttack on Thursday.

The team members, including captain Mithali Raj, were given ceremonial welcome at the airport before being escorted to the hotel.

“The Indian players will not undertake net practice today. They will go to Cuttack for the match early in the morning tomorrow,” an Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) functionary said.

Barabati stadium in Cutatck, which was selected as the venue of the ICC World Cup matches at the last minute, would also host three Super Six league matches involving South Africa, West Indies, England and Sri Lanka.

As per the schedule, West Indies will meet South Africa on February 8 followed by England Vs South Africa match on February 10. South African team will also meet Sri Lanka at Barabati stadium on February 13.

Barabati Stadium will also hold play-off match for the fifth position.
