The Indian team commenced its training for the ODI series, at Lord’s on Wednesday. Coach Duncan Fletcher, Joe Dawes (bowling) and Trevor Penney (fielding) were in charge, while the new director Ravi Shastri will link-up with M.S. Dhoni’s men on Friday. Shastri has sought two days time from the BCCI to fulfil his other commitments.

Dawes and Penney, who have been given a ‘break,’ will continue to supervise the nets till the new coaching staff arrive.

Bharat Arun and R. Sridhar are expected to reach here on Thursday while Sanjay Bangar may take a few days to join the team.

The team, meanwhile, started its practice with stretching exercises, a spot of football and went on to the regular nets.

India will play a warm-up match against Middlesex here on Friday. The first ODI of the five-match series will be held at Bristol on Monday.
