India second in ICC T20 rankings

December 14, 2013 06:52 pm | Updated 06:52 pm IST - Dubai:

India remained in the second spot in the latest ICC Twenty20 rankings, which continues to be headed by Sri Lanka.

“Sri Lanka has retained its No. 1 ranking on the Reliance ICC T20 International Team Rankings table after it beat Pakistan in the second and final T20 International in Dubai on Friday by 24 runs to level the series 1-1,” the ICC said in a statement.

The 1-1 series result meant both Sri Lanka (129 points) and fourth-ranked Pakistan (121) have retained their pre-series ranking.

Sri Lanka, which has been in the top three since October 8, 2012, needed to win Friday’s match to retain its status after it had lost in the series opener on Wednesday by three wickets.
