India restricts Bangladesh to 272

Captain Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan hit half-centuries to lead Bangladesh to 272-9 in the first one-day international against India on Sunday.

Rahim struck 59 while Shakib carried over his IPL form to the national side, hitting 52.

Rahim settled the innings with 52-run partnership with Anamul Haque after India had Bangladesh wobbling at 35-2. Haque hit 44.

Mahmudullah scored 41off 44 with six fours to accelerate the innings in the later part. Nasir Hossain was the other notable contributor with 22.

Mashrafe Mortaza and Abdur Razzak also played their part to give the Bangladesh bowlers a reasonable total to defend.

Umesh Yadav returned figures of 3-48. Amit Mishra ended with 2-55 while debutant Parvez Rasool claimed 2-60. Another debutant Akshar Patel finished with 1-59.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first.
