India fined for slow over rate in Sri Lanka ODI

The International Cricket Council said in a statement Sunday that India was one over short when the finishing time came in Saturday’s day-night match and Match Referee Chris Broad fined Indian captain M.S. Dhoni 20 per cent of his match fee and 10 percent from his teammates.

India won the match by 21 runs and went 1-0 up in the five-match series. The second match will also be played at Hambantota on Tuesday.
