Rahil Shah's five for 77 saw Vijay CC gain the first-innings lead against India Pistons which made 221 in its second innings. S. Suresh Kumar top-scored with 65 (174b, 11x4).
At Murugappa, Gowjith Subash (109, 186b, 11x4, 3x6) and Ankit Bawne (127, 197b, 14x4, 3x6) put on 178 runs for the third wicket to help Alwarpet take a lead of 108 runs as UFCC (T.Nagar) ended the day on 105 for five in its second essay.
In a Group ‘B’ match at VB Nest, S. Mohanraj’s six for 61 went in vain as ICF lost to Grand Slam by an innings and 23 runs as it was skittled out for 70 in the second innings.
At IIT-Chemplast, K. Bharat Reddy’s 59 in the second innings proved just enough to take IOB past Jolly Rovers’ first innings score of 479 for eight as it ended the day on 201 runs for the loss of four wickets.
