Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the remainder of the ODI series and one Twenty20 international in England.

A BCCI release said that Sharma sustained a fracture on the middle finger of his right hand. He made 52 in the Cardiff ODI that India won by 133 runs. The national selectors have replaced Sharma in the squad with India’s Test opener Murali Vijay.

India is scheduled to play three more ODIs at Nottingham (Aug. 30), Birmingham (Sept. 2) and Leeds (Sept. 5). The one-off Twenty20 will be played at Birmingham on Sept. 7.
