Peak fitness was the overwhelming theme as the emerging bowlers camp commenced at the National Cricket Academy here on Monday. The two-week camp features the likes of Parveez Rasool, the Jammu and Kashmir off-spinner, who is part of the Indian squad for the tour of Zimbabwe.
The set of 20 bowlers, who had earlier attended a skill-based camp at the academy, will now focus on their fitness ahead of a long season.
Meanwhile, another camp for above-19 players has also started at the academy, with former India players Sunil Joshi, Deep Dasgupta and Sanjay Bangar being the coaches.
“This camp is meant for those players, who have just crossed 19, and cannot be part of under-19 camps while they are also too young for under-25 camps. The focus will be on skills and fitness,” Joshi said.
