Dhawan to miss the first game

March 30, 2013 02:13 am | Updated 02:13 am IST - HYDERABAD:

India’s latest batting sensation Shikhar Dhawan, who slammed a century on Test debut against Australia, will not be available for Sunrisers Hyderabad’s first game in the 2013 IPL, according to head coach Tom Moody here on Friday.

Moody said Dhawan had not yet fully recovered from the injury which also saw the India batsman miss the final Test in Delhi.

“The management was in constant touch with the BCCI and the medical team about his injury. We hope Shikhar (third highest run-getter with 569 runs for Deccan Chargers in the last IPL) will regain his fitness and be fit for subsequent games,” he added.

About the Sunrisers’ preparations, Moody felt that there was a lot of exciting talent which should come good in this IPL.
