A prolific and classy batsman with a huge appetite for runs and a calm yet authoritative captain Mahela Jayawardene hung his boots from Test cricket. It was a befitting farewell to the former Sri Lankan captain when it defeated Pakistan in the second Test in Colombo on August 18, 2014.
