Abdulla’s fine spell helps Mumbai rout Kerala

M.B. Darshan (six for 45) triggered Andhra Cricket Association’s second-innings collapse, which paved the way for a nine-wicket victory for KSCA Colts in their KSCA K. Thimmappiah Memorial tournament match in Bangalore on Tuesday.

Andhra CA was bowled out for 177 in its second essay, leaving a measly target of 19. KSCA Colts sealed the win in 1.4 overs.

At Mysore, an inspired spell of left-arm spin bowling by Mumbai’s Iqbal Abdulla (six for 18), the team register a big 196-run win over Kerala CA in their Group ‘C’ league tie on the concluding day.

Resuming at its overnight score of zero for one in 3.1 overs, Kerala CA’s batsmen caved in to the guiles of Abdulla to be bowled out for 112 in 47.5 overs. Middle-order batsman Ralphi Vincent Gomes top scored for Kerala with 58 (10x4, 1x6).

In another tie, National Cricket Academy scored an emphatic 195-run win over Assam CA. Assam CA, resuming at its overnight score of 181 for four in 48.5 overs, was skittled out for 290 in 68.4 overs. Left-handed opener Pallav Das impressed with a well-compiled century 126 (16x4, 2x6).

KSCA President’s XI 446 in 118.1 overs & 225 for three (decl.) in 52 overs drew with Goa CA 248 in 83.4 overs & 243 for four in 86 overs (Prathemesh Gawas 117 n.o., Sagun Kamat 75, Regan Pinto 25).

Baroda CA 612 for five (decl.) in 156 overs & 168 for no loss in 43 overs (Saurabh Wakaskar 102 n.o., Pinal Shah 62 n.o.) drew with Dr. D.Y. Patil Academy 413 in 143.1 overs (Yogesh Powar 48, Ketul Patel five for 63, Shoeb Tai four for 73).
