BCCI interim president Jagmohan Dalmiya said here on Tuesday the Bombay High Court order had put the board in “an embarrassing position”.
“The court case and the order have to be looked into, but it has put us in an embarrassing position,” Damiya said. “I cannot react or comment on the Bombay High Court order as I do not have complete information about it. I have also not received any official communication from the BCCI headquarters, so I cannot react on what I am seeing in the media. Somebody should come forward and tell me what has really happened,” he added.
Dalmiya appeared to be in distress over the recent developments surrounding the BCCI as he remained noncommittal to a host of questions. When he was asked when the BCCI would clear its stand on the court verdict, he said he was not in a position to say so. Asked why, as the BCCI interim head, he could not specify the time, he enigmatically said, “Because I don’t know who holds that position (of the BCCI president).”
His reaction came after N. Srinivasan, who had stepped aside as the BCCI president, expressed his desire (to a news agency) to attend the BCCI working committee meeting on August 2 at New Delhi.
