Bista sends Mumbai into semifinals

Opener Jay Bista smashed a century (128, 152b, 14x4, 1x6) as Mumbai defeated Baroda by four wickets to enter the semifinals of the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy on Friday. Bista, who was recently dropped from the Ranji squad, stitched together a crucial 104-run partnership with fellow opener Parikshit Valsangkar (44, 45b, 8x4).

The scores: At Hyderabad: Madhya Pradesh 442 vs Hyderabad 328 for seven in 120 overs (B. Yathin Reddy 116, Himalay Agarwal 93, Jaweed Ali 40, Ashwin Das five for 56).

At Vadodara: Baroda 177 & 288 in 75.4 overs (D. Mistry 31, Mrunal Devdhar 58, Vishnu Solanki 101, Deepak Hooda 53, Dhrumil Matkar four for 90, Akash Parkar five for 33) lost to Mumbai 191 & 279 for six in 55.3 overs (J. Bista 128, Parikshit Valsangkar 44, Eknath Kerkar 28, V Yadav three for 89, K. Kakade three for 81).

At New Delhi: Maharashtra 172 & 291 in 63.4 overs (Murtaza Trunkwala 102, Nikhil Naik 113, Ambikeshwar Mishra three for 72, K. Mahajan three for 60) bt Railways 165 & 168 in 48.2 overs (Faiz Ahmad 28, A. Yadav 43, S. Kazi three for 13).
