Michael Clarke is out of the Champions Trophy. The Australian vice-captain left for home after missing the first two matches due to a strain on his lower back.

Aussie physio Alex Kountouri said Clarke received intensive treatment but the pain had increased after the side arrived in South Africa for the tournament.

New Zealand paceman Darryl Tuffey will also take no further part in the competition. He broke a bone in the back of his hand while fielding and will undergo surgery back home.
