Chaitanya, Sashidhar star for Hyderabad

Unbeaten centuries by K.S.K. Chaitanya and G. Sashidhar Reddy and their double-century stand saw Hyderabad scoring 256 for three against Tamil Nadu on the first day of its last league match in the Vijay Merchant trophy South Zone inter-State under-16 tournament here on Tuesday.

Chaitanya (119, 17x4) and Sashidhar (103, 14x4,2x6) added 203 for the unbroken fourth wicket so far.

Andhra is comfortably placed against Karnataka after Harish (four wickets), Nikhil and Karthik Raman (two each) restricted the rival to 180.

Goa shot out Kerala for 107 with Lakshay Garg and Vedanta Naik claiming four each and Neeraj Yadav chipping in with two wickets for eight runs.

At stumps, Goa was 151 with openers S.S. Koutankar and Isham Gadekar going strong.

The scores:

Karnataka 180 in 74.1 overs (Arjun 84, Ankith Mishra 37, K Harish four for 53) vs. Andhra 55 for one in 13 overs (Dhruv Kumar Reddy 28 batting, Karna Shinde 25 batting).

Kerala 107 in 56.4 overs (Salman Nizar 41, Lakshay Garg four for 23, Vedanta Naik four for 44) vs. Goa 151 for no loss in 33 overs (S. S. Koutankar 79 batting, Isham Gadekar 69 batting).

Hyderabad 256 for three in 97 overs (KSK Chaitanya 119 batting, G. Sashidhar Reddy 103 batting) vs. Tamil Nadu.
