Bengal fighting to avoid an innings defeat

KALYANI: Bengal was fighting to avoid an innings defeat as it was at 86 for three after following on and trailing by 206 runs on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Group ‘D’ match against Vidarbha at the Bengal Cricket Association (BCA) ground here on Saturday.

Resuming from 89 for three, Bengal was all out for 207 in its first innings. Asked to follow on, Bengal lost three wickets for only 10 runs before Sudip Chatterjee and captain Manoj Tiwary put up an unbeaten 76-run partnership for the third wicket.

Pacer Lalit Yadav took all three wickets inside seven overs in Bengal’s second innings.
