BCCI Working Committee meeting today

January 15, 2013 12:53 am | Updated 12:53 am IST - MUMBAI:

The BCCI’s Working Committee will meet here on Tuesday in the backdrop of the Indian team’s recent poor performance against England and Pakistan leading to calls for captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and chief coach Duncan Fletcher to be removed.

At the previous meeting of the committee held on November 21 last year, a consensus could not be reached on whether Mohammed Azharuddin should be brought back under the parent body’s fold after the Andhra Pradesh High Court lifted the life ban imposed by the BCCI on him.

It remains to be seen whether the Working Committee can come to an agreement on this issue on Tuesday.

The committee could decide on the venue of the IPL players’ auction set for February 3, though other Board sources have insisted that it is for the governing council of the IPL, headed by Rajeev Shukla, to take a call on the matter.
