The Board of Control for Cricket in India has refused to give any credence to stories suggesting India’s pullout from the forthcoming Champions Trophy on the issue of L. Sivaramakrishnan facing opposition from various quarters on his appointment to the International Cricket Council Cricket Committee.

A senior Board official said it was preposterous to even consider such a move.

The Champions Trophy, to be held in England from June 6, is an ICC-sponsored tournament and this edition is set to be the last of the event that began in 1998.

“At no point was a pull out considered,” said the Board official. On the Sivaramakrishnan episode, the Board expectedly received support from the Asian Test-playing countries.
