Senior BCCI vice-president and former Secretary Niranjan Shah told The Hindu that unpleasant events related to the IPL-6 in the last few months has changed the public perception of the BCCI. “The BCCI members have a responsibility to correct this negative picture. I also feel that there is no harm in appointing another probe panel following the observations made by the Bombay High Court. But the probe is not against the BCCI President N. Srinivasan and he can remain as President,” said Shah.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Ravi Savant said that the working committee was in the know that N. Srinivasan would step aside until such a time the two-member panel was in place to conduct the probe and submit its report and that Jagmohan Dalmiya would discharge his duties.
“Now that the probe panel has submitted its report N. Srinivasan can function as BCCI President.”
