Laxmipathy Balaji, former India seamer, is among the 35 bowlers with suspect action who have been asked to report for rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore from January 18 to 24.
Balaji bowled 207 overs for Tamil Nadu in seven Ranji Trophy Super League matches this season. The rehabilitation course will be run in three batches of three days duration each. The NCA has also invited the coaches of the respective players.
Left-hand batsman Abhinav Mukund, who bowls leg spin, too figures in the list that has specialist batsmen in S. Sriram, Manish Pandey, Harshad Khadiwale, Shivakant Shukla, Parvinder Singh and Mohammad Kaif.
A notable absentee in the list is Gujarat off-spinner Mohnish Parmar. He had been sent to Australia for advanced investigation and has undergone rehabilitation at the NCA more than two times and according to a BCCI decision the NCA will not carry out rehabilitation more than two times. Parmar was dropped after Gujarat’s second Super League match against Tamil Nadu.
