Australia beats Pakistan to win ODI series

Michael Hussey hit 65 and Glenn Maxwell smashed 56 not out from 38 balls as Australia beat Pakistan by three wickets to win 2-1 in the one-day international series.

The victory early Tuesday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium condemned Pakistan to a third straight ODI series defeat this year after also going down to England and Sri Lanka.

After Mitchell Starc claimed 4-51 and Mitchell Johnson 2-33 to help restrict Pakistan to 244-7, Australia was struggling at 108-4 nearly halfway through its 50 overs.

Maxwell belted three sixes and four boundaries, Hussey hit seven fours and a six.

Saeed Ajmal took 3-37 and Abdul Rehman captured 2-41 to be Pakistan’s best bowlers.
