Arunkumar, Mansoor appointed coaches

July 25, 2012 01:15 am | Updated 01:15 am IST - Bangalore:

Former Karnataka cricketers J. Arunkumar and Mansoor Ali Khan have been appointed as coaches of the State Ranji Trophy team, it was announced here on Tuesday.

Arunkumar will function as the batting coach with Mansoor in charge of the bowling; the two will jointly be responsible for the team, with no other ‘head coach’ at the helm, while R. Sudhakar Rao will continue as manager.

Six candidates were invited to be interviewed for the positions, Srinath revealed. Former Karnataka medium pacer T. Nasiruddin, who “narrowly missed out” on the top job, would be considered for the under-25 position, he added.

The incumbent K. Jeshwanth, meanwhile, will remain in the setup with the RC-KSCA academy. — Sports Reporter
