The way Rohit Sharma dominated the Kolkata Knight Riders' bowling shows that he has taken his game to a “different level,” said Herschelle Gibbs after his team Mumbai Indian won here at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.

“His (Rohit) cricket has definitely gone forward, that's what I can say of him after seeing him for the last five years,” Gibbs said about Rohit, with whom he shared an unbeaten 167-run partnership for the second wicket.

“Rohit and Virat Kohli have taken Indian cricket to a different level but when it comes to technique, Rohit is a bit ahead of Kohli,” Gibbs said analysing the two young talents of the country.

“He is making good, clean hitting and not slogging at all. It was wonderful to see him bat,” Gibbs said about his partner who remained undefeated on 109. About his own innings Gibbs , who scored an unbeaten 66, said that he played the shots he is comfortable with.

Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir congratulated the extraordinary innings of Rohit saying that the latter alone created the difference.
