Mayank Agarwal slammed 13 sixes and 22 fours during his knock of 235 and was involved in a 300-plus stand with fellow-opener K. Rohit to place South Zone on top in the Vizzy Trophy inter-university inter-zonal cricket final against North Zone here on Thursday.

Agarwal, who represents Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, took his time to reach 100 and then blazed his way to 235, while putting on 328 for the first wicket with Rohit, who made 109.

South, in reply to North's first innings score of 365 ended day two of the four-day match at 417 for three.

Breezy knock

The 20-year-old Agarwal got his 100 off 102 balls (2x6, 13x4). He then raced to 200 off another 73 balls with the help of seven more sixes and eight fours.

The partnership between Agarwal and Rohit, who played second fiddle and hit eight fours and faced 249 balls, came off 375 balls.
