Sri Lanka was 166 for two in reply to Australia's 316 all out at the end of day two of the third and final Test of the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy series at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground here.
Kumar Sangakkara (61), who is playing his 100th Test, and Mahela Jayawardene (31) were at the crease when play was called off due to bad light with five overs remaining on Saturday.
Earlier, Michael Hussey (118) continued from where he had left off on Friday, completing yet another century — his fourth in five Tests against Sri Lanka and his 15th overall in Tests. He has so far made 370 runs in four innings in the series, at a fine average of 92.5.
Hussey's contribution is much more than what the numbers can possibly convey: it can be gauged from the fact that he has walked in each time with Australia struggling to regain control of the match.
He has now reached another milestone — 5,000 Test runs.
Welegedara picked up three on Saturday. Debutant Eranga scalped four with his medium-pace.
