A superb all-round show by Diana David — 47 not out and a six-wicket haul — saw Hyderabad prevailing over Tamil Nadu by 10 runs in the deciding league match, and lift the South Zone senior women’s cricket title in Vijayawada on Monday.

Kerala took the third place, beating Goa by five wickets in the last over, thanks to a fine all-round show by T. Shanti.

Karnataka beat Andhra by eight wickets with Karuna Jain scoring the day’s highest individual score of 80 not out (10x4).

Andhra 163 for nine in 50 overs (P.V. Sudharani 30, N.S. Tulasi Ramalakshmi 27, Vandana Mahajan three for 20, Rajeswari Gaikwad three for 26) lost to Karnataka 167 for two in 40.3 overs (Karuna Jain 80 n.o., V.R. Vanita 51).
