Akash spins Hyderabad to an innings win

A fine spell by leg-spinner Akash Bhandari (five for 29) helped Hyderabad record an innings and 189-run win over Haryana in the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy cricket tournament at the Gymkhana here on Monday.

Hyderabad picked up seven points, while the loser got none.

Maharashtra beats TN

At Ratnagiri, S. Bachhav (three for five) and N. Dhumal (three for 34) helped host Maharashtra defeat Tamil Nadu by 312 runs.

Easy for Kerala

At Vasco da Gama, Kerala completed a 10-wicket win over Goa.

The host, resuming at 45 for two on the final day, lost the remaining eight wickets for addition of another 101 runs.

Medium-pacer N. Niaz (three for 10) was the wrecker-in-chief for Kerala.

Needing 21 runs for a victory, Kerala took just four overs to reach the target.

Karnataka posts win

At Bangalore, host Karnataka defeated Himachal Pradesh by 10 wickets.

Odisha scores win

Odisha won its matches outright when it beat Jammu and Kashmir by165 runs to earn six points at Jammu.

The Baroda-Bengal game at Vadodara ended in a draw after the visitor fell 106 runs short on first innings which gave the host three points.

At Hyderabad: Haryana 208 and 143 (Y.K. Chahal 36, Akash Bhandari five for 29, A.M. Rajendra four for 31) lost to Hyderabad 540 for five decl.

At Bangalore: Himachal Pradesh 296 in 92.3 overs and 255 in 66.3 overs (K.J. Singh 70, N.R. Gangta 48, J.P. Singh 32, L.S. Shandil 30, A.K. Kaushik 25, Aditya Sagar five for 47, Sharath three for 64) lost to Karnataka 476 in 119 overs and 79 for no loss in 16.2 overs (Mayank Agarwal 40 n.o., R. Samarth 35 n.o.).

At Vasco da Gama: Goa 255 and 146 in 57 overs (N. Niaz three for 10) lost to Kerala 382 for four decl. and 21 for no loss in four overs.

At Jammu: Odisha 320 and 308 for nine in 83.2 overs (L. Samal 57, Amir Mehraj four for 69) bt J&K 231 and 232 in 72.4 overs (O.M. Shah 86, P. Pramanik four for 48).

At Vadodara: Baroda 546 for eight and 45 for no loss in 16.5 overs drew with Bengal 440 in 177.5 overs (Sudip Chatterjee 129, A. Ansari 114, K. Patel four for 107).

At Ratnagiri: Maharashtra 252 in 103 overs (A. Dandeker 104, Sunil Sam six for 73, Prabhu Murthy three for 65) and 320 for five decl. in 85.1 overs (R. Tripathi 102) bt Tamil Nadu 184 in 85.1 overs (Vijay Shankar 79, A. Dole three for 37) and 76 in 38.1 overs (B. Indrajith 29, S. Bachhav three for five, N. Dhumal three for 34).

At Agartala: Tripura 202 and 275 in 99.4 overs (G. Bhatia 73, A. Sarvate six for 85) lost to Vidarbha 477 and 30 for one in 6.2 overs.

At Silchar: Assam 184 and 113 in 47 overs bt Andhra 119 and 177 in 104.1 overs (P. Das six for 56).

At Dhanbad: Jharkhand 355 and 62 for one in 18 overs drew with Chhattisgarh 350. .
