Their 188-run stand helped Grand Slam reach 250 for two after it opted to bat on Tuesday.
At IC-Guru Nanak, K. Martin Sanjeev’s ton (100, 148b, 11x4, 5x6) was instrumental in Young Stars scoring 259 for eight against Vijay CC. Off-spinner Malolan Rangarajan picked up four wickets. He now has 25 scalps in the season.

Losing its wayElsewhere, UFCC (T. Nagar) lost its way after a good start, eventually managing 212 for five at stumps against Southern Railway Institute.
Hemang Badani (76) and U. Sasidev (55) forged a 121-run partnership for the third wicket before UFCC (T. Nagar) collapsed from 174 for two to 174 for five in less than two overs.
