Betis moved up to joint fifth in the Spanish Liga with a 5-1 romp on Friday at troubled Andalusian rival Granada.

Veteran striker Ruben Castro was Betis’ hero with a quick-fire brace on the half hour.

Castro made it 1-0 in the 31st minute with a cool finish, after good work by winger Alvaro Vadillo. Two minutes later, Castro turned in the rebound after a clever chip from Dorlan Pabon had hit the Granada crossbar.

Granada defender Inigo Lûpez made it 3-0 with a clumsy own goal.

The result : Granada 1 (Aranda 72) lost to Real Betis 5 (Ruben Castro 30, 32, Lûpez 35-og, Pabon 53, Angel 85).
