The 80th Bertram Memorial tournaments, conducted by the Loyola College at its premises, will be held from August 15 to 31.
“This is a unique year as it is our 80th,” said Rev. Dr. B. Jeyaraj, Principal, Loyola College, at the press conference here on Monday.
Nearly 1,800 participants from 10 schools from Tamil Nadu and 56 colleges in South India will take part in the chess tournament (from Aug. 15 to 19), table tennis singles & doubles (Aug. 20 to 23), tennis (singles & doubles) (Aug. 20 to 25), volleyball (Aug. 23 to 26), ball badminton (Aug. 26 to 29) and basketball (Aug. 27 to 31).
S. Vijayakumar, Director of Physical Education, Loyola College, said tennis will be a three-set affair unlike five-sets all these years.
