Davis Cup captain Anand Amritraj was pleased with the strong start to the Davis Cup campaign this season.
“We had to win three points. We are happy to be through 3-0. It was tough and even the doubles was close. Our players were aggressive and that helped. We finished the job in two days. It was awesome.
“Som played great. Yuki played unbelievable tennis yesterday. His shot-making was superb. He managed to battle through pain. It was a great effort,” said the captain.
On his part, Yuki said he was happy to be the second player in the team behind the experienced Somdev. “It is easy for me to play my game. We can depend on the higher-ranked Somdev to get us two matches. It was me who had to step it up, and am glad I did,” said Yuki.
